No, in fact running improves the health of your bones and can reduce your risk of arthritis.
Running is good for your knees!
Studies which have compared people who run for fun, those who run competitively and people who don’t run. They found that the people with the least arthritis in their knees are those who run for fun. Being inactive puts you at a higher risk of problems with your knees.
You could get back into running
If you have stopped running for fear of injuring your knees maybe it is time to start again. If you are concerned you could see an osteopath to assess your knees and understand how you can get back into exercise.
