Will my back pain go away?
Most new episodes of low back pain will be better within 6 weeks and you can go back to life to the full again.
Long-term, chronic or persistent pain is pain that continues beyond 3 months. When helping people with long-term pain I cannot promise that you will have full pain relief.
Treatment success doesn’t focus on pain levels. The aim is to understand the impact of pain on your life and identify your goals for improvement. What has pain stopped you doing? How can we help you to return to the activities that matter to you? You may be disappointed that this may mean continuing to have pain. Researchers and practitioners now know that we don’t have many effective ways of completely resolving pain. You only have to think of the fact that 85% of people will experience low back pain at some point during their life. But, there are many effective ways of reducing pain and improving your wellbeing.
A life lived in pain is very different to a life lived with pain.
When you return to living your life again you will have strategies for managing your pain and your life will no longer be dominated by pain.
We use hands-on treatment to reduce pain sensitivity, exercise to help you move without pain and well-being advice to help reduce your risk of pain.
