Are you surprised that osteoporosis affects men as well as women? It is very common but there is a lot that can be done to reduce your risks. I’m really keen to encourage men and women in their 40s to implement the lifestyle changes to reduce their risks and make sure their bones are staying strong before their natural risks increase. Make a healthy lifestyle your way of life.
There are 6 changes that have been identified to reduce your risk:
- Getting enough calcium
- Daily sunlight or supplements for vitamin D
- Regular exercise – upright exercises that involve impact through your feet
- Maintaining a healthy weight – not too light
- Stop smoking
- Keeping alcohol within healthy limits
