25/07/2019
Osteoarthritis is very common, it affects around 8.75 million people in the UK.
It is more common in females than males. People over the age of 45 years. You may be overweight, or have had repeated knee injuries or a job involving a lot of kneeling.
If you’ve been a footballer the more injuries and surgeries you have had the more likely you are to get osteoarthritis as you get older.
If you are overweight you are at increased risk of osteoarthritis and also likely to be more sensitive to pain so your pain is at a higher level.
