Why do I need resilience?

In life no-one is immune from stress. No-one can promise you a life that will be free from pain, difficulties and trials – that’s just not how life is.
Resilience is the ability to cope with stress and difficulties – it is the ability to recover and overcome the negative emotion associated with a stressful experience.
This may simply be getting over a set-back such as a failed exam or interview, responding to a disagreement or recovering after an illness or bereavement.
Resilience can be improved by meditation and relaxation. It’s not an immediate boost but gradual over time.
