Do you have health anxiety?
Health anxiety is something we all experience – worries about arthritis, dementia, cancer, osteoporosis and other conditions. Maybe you have a relative with a condition and you worry you might suffer too.
Worry is actually not good for your health and certainly won’t help reduce your risks. I have two tips with regard to worrying about health:
- Think about what you are doing or you could do differently from relatives with a particular condition such as exercising, eating well, sleeping well etc.
- Try not to make health the focus of your life but what you can achieve with that good health. Good health can be the means of living your life to the full – whatever that means to you.
One of my goals is to provide you with the information to help you relieve your health anxiety so you know what you can do to reduce your health risks. There are certain risks that can’t be changed. However, you can learn about things you can change so you can have the confidence that you have done the best you can to reduce your anxieties about health issues arising.
What are your health worries? I’d love to hear so I can continue to provide information that will help you reduce your worries and improve your health.
